POAC Definitions

QuestionAnswer
Nucleus Command Center of the cell
Cytoplasm Jellylike substance in the cell.
Ribosomes Make proteins for the cell.
Cell Membrane Holds the cell together and controls what goes in and out.
Plant Wall Provides the cell with shape and structure.
Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum (RER) Helps produce protein and DNA.
Golgi Complex Transports materials in and out of the cell.
Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum (SER) Detoxifies harmful substances.
Cytoskeleton Provides transportation for CELLS.
Chromosomes Contains an organism's entire gnome or genetic material.
Centrosomes Moves the microtubules around so they can send out spindle fibers to attach to the centromeres on the chromosomes.
