Trichinella spiralis Nematodes or roundworms i. larvae encyst in muscle ii. raw ham or roast a problem
Necator americanus/Ancylostoma duodenale Nematodes or roundworms i. hookworms, latch to intestinal walls and suck every nutrient out ii. anemia can be so severe, patients faint
Strongyloides stercolaris Nematodes or roundworms . hookworms, latch to intestinal walls and suck every nutrient out ii. anemia can be so severe, patients faint
Wuchereria bancrofti Nematodes or roundworms i. Attacks the blood stream and the lymphatic vessels causing massive swelling of the legs and groin area. ii. Disease is known as elephantiasis. iii. Incapacitating and deforming, it socially marginates its host.
