What do the arrows in the food chain show? The direction in which the energy flows.
Why are food chains so short? Energy is transferred between organisms and more energy is lost at each stage for things such as respiration, waste products and even moving around So much energy is lost that there is not enough to support anymore organisms after about five stages.
What is the source of energy for nearly all life on earth? The sun.
What do fossils show us? They let us see different examples of species that don't exist anymore. They are the only proof to tell us of there existance at all.
List causes of an extinction? Change in environmental conditions, new competitor species is introduced, food source becomes extinct.
Which factors are essential to animals? Food, Oxygen, Water,
Which factors are essential to plants? Light, Minerals, Oxygen, Carbon Dixoide, Water
