What is an Ecosystem? Any group of living organisms and non-living things occuring together and the interactions between them
Define Habitat A place where organisms live
Define Population All the organisms of a species that live in the same place at the same time and can be bred together
Define Community All the populations of different species that live in the same place at the same time
What is a Niche? The role that a certain species plays in an ecosystem
What is a Biotic Factor and what are the examples of it? Factors due to living organisms e.g. food supply, predation and disease
What is an Abiotic Factor and what are the examples of it? Factors and effects of non-living components e.g. pH of soil, temperature and soil type
Ecosystems are... Dynamic systems
