Drama Terms
Drama

| Drama | Is meant to be PERFORMED for an audience |
| Dialogue | What actors/character so unlike short stories the audience cannot see into the minds of the character |
| Gestures | Movement of body part become important to help the audience see how a character feels |
| Stage directions | Tell the actor ; they are written in italics and are in brackets |
| Comedy | A drama with a happy ending |
| Tragedy | A drama with a tragic or unhappy ending |
| Tragic flow | The qualify beliefs personality trait that leads to a leads a characters death |
| 1 act play | A drama with few characters few scenes usually lasts less than an hour. |
| Full length play | many character many scenes many conflicts |
| Monologue | a long speech by character on stage other character an hour of monologue |
| Aside | a brief comment made by a character to another character or the audience not heard by others |
| Soliloquy | A long speech made by a character in which his/her thoughts and feeling are revealed usually not meant to be heard by other character but it is meant to be heard by the audience |
