What does your body use carbohydrates, fats and proteins for? To release energy and to build new cells.
Why do athletes need more food than an average person? Because the more exercise you do the more food needed.
What does food do? Food provides energy to the muscles.
What is metabolic rate? Chemical reactions in your cells.
Mention 2 things that affect you metabolic rate. Fat to muscle proportion Amount of exercise
What is excess energy stored as and what can too much of this lead to. Fat, obesity.
Name some problems cased by obesity. Arthritis Type 2 diabetes High blood sugar levels High Blood Pressure Heart Disease
What two things can you do to loose weight? Reduce the amount of energy you take in by cutting the amount of food you eat. Or by Increasing the amount of activities you do.
Why is cholesterol needed? For cell membranes and used to make vital hormones in the body.
Hoe can an inheritance factor affect your health? High levels of dangerous cholesterol and increased risk of heart disease whatever they eat.
How can you change your cholesterol levels? Regular exercise lowers your blood cholesterol level.
