Ribosomes Synthesize proteins; found in all cells
Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum Assembles proteins; found in eukaryotic cells
Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum Does not have ribosomes on its surface; found in eukaryotic cells
Golgi Apparatus Modifies, sorts, and packages proteins and lipids for storage or transport out of the cell; found in eukaryotes
Chloroplasts Convert solar energy to chemical energy stored in food; only found in plant cells
Mitochondria Convert chemical energy in food to usable compounds; found in eukaryotes
Cell Wall Shapes, supports, and protects the cell; found in plant cells and prokaryotes
