Macromolecules
| Question | Answer |

| Carbohydrate | Found in most foods. They are organic molecules made of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen. |
| Monosaccharide | The building blocks of carbohydrates. An example is glucose. |
| Lipid | Non-polar molecules that are not soluble in water. They include fats, waxes, and steroids. They make up cell membranes. |
| Protein | Made by linking together a string of amino acids. Examples are hair, muscle, and skin. |
| Amino Acid | The building blocks of proteins. There are 20 different ones. |
| Nucleic Acid | A long chain of nucleotides. There are two types- DNA and RNA. It contains the genetic code. |
| Nucleotide | Made of three parts- a sugar, a phosphate group, and a nitrogen base. |
