What is the major source of energy? Fats
What are proteins? organic macromolecules that are composed of amino acid monomers

What are hormones? protein containing substances that play a role in the regulation of cellular functions
Amino acids? Are biological compounds containing an amino group and a carboxylic acid group and have non-polar, polar, or Ionic side chains
Nucleotides? have a nitrogenous base, pentose sugar, phosphate group
Cholesterol? based on steroid ring structure,synthesized from the breakdown products of fatty acids.
What are hydrocarbons? the simplest type of organic compound
How many essential amino acids are there? 20
Fatty Acids? are hydrophobic molecules used primarily for energy storage
What is the most universal monosaccharide? Glucose
These are used by organisms to produce energy? Monosaccharides
