Generally what is a trash can used for? disposal of dry, harmless materials

What should you not pour in a sink? chemicals or biological materials into the sink unless specifically instructed to do so by your lab instructor.
Where should a liquid chemical be placed after an experiment? in its appropriate labeled waste bottle, with a lid
Where should a biological substance be placed after an experiment? should be sealed and placed in a biohazard container
After an experiment is complete what should you do? dispose of materials properly
What type of shoes should you wear in a experiment? closed toe shoes
If you have long hair when performing an experiment what should you do? tie your hair back
Before an experiment what should you know? where fire exits, fire blanket, extinguishers, first aid kits, eye washes, and waste disposal areas are located
When using liquids in an experiment what should you use? safety goggles
Before an experiment what should you not wear? ◦Do not wear contact lenses in lab ◦Do not wear baggy clothes or dangling jewelry
What should you not do during an experiment? touch anything unless you are told to do so
when performing an experiment where should you keep your hands? away from your face, eyes, mouth, and body
What should you do if a chemical gets in your eye? flush the eye with water for 15 minutes and tell the teacher
What should you do when an experiment requires you to smell a substance? wave your hand over the substance and smell the wafted odors
What should you not do in a lab? eat, drink, or chew gum
After an experiment what should you do? •Put away all lab tools, chemicals, and equipment •Clean the area thoroughly •Wash your hands with soap and water --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
