What are convection currents? The flow of heat through a medium

What are CFC's? Gases used as propellents in various products that contribute to global warming.
What significant changes have occurred in the past 50 years because of global warming? Melting of ice caps and glaciers.
How does the greenhouse effect work? The atmosphere absorbs and reradiates the heat back to earth.
What is the main cause of the increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide? Burning of fossil fuels.
What is insolation? A measure of solar radiation energy on a given surface.
What is the result of changes in insolation? Climatic cycles lasting hundreds of years.
What is albedo? The fraction of solar energy reflected back into space.
What has lower albedo? Water or land? Water.
What are the biomes with the highest biodiversity? Tropical rainforest, Coral reefs, Estuary
Which biome has no reptiles or amphibians? Tundra
Why is the greenhouse effect important to life on earth? It balances radiation entering and leaving the atmosphere.
