| What are the three ways Hormone secretions are controlled? | Signals from the nervous system. Chemical changes in the blood and other hormones. Ex. Nerve impulses to the adrenal medullae regukate the release of epinephrine and norepinephrine. |
| What is the differences and similarities of the endocrine and exocrine system? | Endocrine- releases hormones into the INTESTITIAL FLUID and then into the vlood stream. Exocrine- secrete products into ducts that carry the secretions into A BODY CAVITY,outer surface of the body. |
| What are the roles of target cells and receptors? | Target cells- are affected by certain hormones, hormone bind chemically to certain receptors. Receptors- are specialized cells that respond to specific sensory neurons, converts to an electrical signal. |
| Where are lipid and water soluble hormones located? | Lipid soluble- inside the body, diffuse the lipid bilayer of the plasma membrane and bind to the receptors within the target cells. Water Soluble- outsidebind to receptors that PROTRUDE from the target cell surface. |
