Describe Term and Function

Arm To carry the Microscope & connect all of the pieces.
Oculars (Eye Piece) To view the specimen. Magnifies 10x's.
Head To connect the ocular with the rotating nose piece and objectives.
Rotating Nose Piece Change Obj. or Magnification.
Objectives Red- Scanning 10 x 4= Total Mag. 40 White- Low Power 10 x 10= Total Mag. 100 Blue- High power 40 x 10= Total Mag. 400 Yellow- Oil Immersion 100 x 10= Total Mag 1000

Iris Diaphragm Lever Controls the amount of light that goes through the Iris.
Stage Holds your Specimen.
Light Source Provides light to view Specimen
Iris Allows light to view Specimen (Hole on Stage).
Condenser Condenses and Refocuses the light through the Iris.
Iris Diaphragm Lever Controls the amount of light that goes through the Iris.
Stage Clip Holds your slide in place.
Light Source Provides light to view Specimen
Mechanical Stage Moves your slide into position.
Light Dimmer Switch Controls the amount of light. Bright or Dim. Small Button
Stage Clip Holds your slide in place.
Mechanical Stage Moves your slide into position.
Mechanical Stage Knob Position your slide.
Coarse Adjustment Knob Brings Specimen into focus. Raises and Lowers Stage.
Fine Adjustment Knob Fine Tuning Focus.
Base Support the Microscope.
On/Off Switch Turn On/Off your Microscope.
Electrical Cord Connects to outlet by Electricity.
