How are Endocrine and Exocrine Glands alike? They both secrete their products.
How are Endocrine and Exocrine Glands different? Exocrine: secretes products into ducts. Endocrine: secrets hormones into interstitial fluid.
What are 3 ways hormone secretions are controlled? 1.Singals from the nervous system. 2.Chemical changes in the blood. 3.Other hormones
Examples of hormone Secretion. 1.nerve impulse to the adrenal medullae regulate release of epinephrine. 2.Ca2+ levels regulate secretion of parathyroid hormone. 3.Horomne from the anterior pituitary stimulates release of cortisol.
Location of the receptor sites of the lipid soluble hormones. Inside Target Cells.
Location of the receptor sites of the water soluble hormones. Part of the plasma membrane of target cells.
What is the role of the target cell? A cell whose activity is effected by a particular hormone.
What is the role of the receptor sites? Where neurotransmitters chemically bind to.
