phenotype expressed physical traits of an organism.
genotype the genetic makeup of an organism.
homozygous 2 identical alleles of a gene.
heterozygous 2 different alleles of a gene.
genes units of hereditary information(that controls a specific characteristic) consisting of DNA and that are located on chromosomes.
genome the whole of the genetic information of an organism.
gene locus the possition of a gene on a chromosome
diploid 2 sets of chromosomes (2n)
haploid one set of chromosomes (n)
somatic cells body cells
germ cells sex cells, or cells that leads to the production of gametes
