Fitness is? A measure of a trait;s relative contribution to the following generation.
Adaption is ? Inherited characterisrtic of a species that developes over time.
A group of organisms of the same species is ? Population.
Homologus structure is? (hint homo means same i.e. Homosexual) An atatomically similar structure inherited from a common ancester.
Vestigal? reduced form of a functional structure that indicates shared ancestory
Hereditory changes in groups of living organisms over time is called? Evolution
A Fossil is? Preserved evidence of an organism
The system of naming species using two words is called? Binomial Nomenclature
Genus is? A taxon of closely related species that share a recent common ancestor
A branch of biology that groups and names species based on studies of characteristics is? Taxanomy
Why is the Binomial Nomenclature always in latin? Latin is a lost language and will never change.
What are some rules about Binomial Nomenclature? The Genus is always capitilized and the species is always lowercase unless the species is a name of a country or person.
What species concept is able to reproduce successfully in the wild? Biological species concept
How can biochemical characters be used to determine phylogeny? They use different acids and *Nucleotides *main reason.
Algae are a type of? Eukarya-kingdom protista-domain

What are the different types of domains and kingdoms? Domain Bacteria, Domain Archea (can live in extreme climates) Kindom Eukarya, Kingdom Prostista, Kingdom Fungi, Kingdom Plantae, Kingdom animalia.
