What is the chemical term for simple sugars (made of one buidling block)? Monosaccharides
What are some examples of simple sugars? Glucose, fructose, galactose
What is the main function of carbohydrates? Energy
What is excess glucose stored as in plants? Starch
What is excess glucose stored as in animals? Glycogen
What is a carbohydrate found in plants that gives plants their structure or rigidity? Cellulose
What are the two components of a lipid molecule? Glycerol and 3 fatty acids.
A lipid that is liquid at room temperature is... Oil
The term for a lipid that is found in your ears and leaves of plants protecting them from drying out is... Wax
A lipid that serves as a chemical messenger is... Hormone
Poisons and venomes are examples of this marcromolecule. Lipids
