The Sentence

QuestionAnswer
What is a sentence? A word group that contains a subject and a predicate
Subject tells whom or what the sentence is about
Predicate tells something about the subject
Compound subject consists of two or more connected subjects that have the same verb
Compund verb consists of two or more verbs that have the same subject
Declaraitve sentence makes a statement, ends with a period
Imperative sentence gives a command, ends with a period or exclamation point depending on the strongness of the command
Interrogative sentence asks a question, ends with a question mark
Exclamatory sentence shows excitement or strong feeling, ends with an exclamation mark
