QuestionAnswer
Verb Word that is used to express action or a state of being
Noun Word or groups of words that is used to name a person, place, thing or idea
Pronoun A word that is used in place of one to more nouns or pronouns
Adjective A word used to modify a noun or pronoun. Answers what kind, which one, or how many
Adverb Modifys a verb, adjective or adverb. Answers how, when or where
Preposition Word that shows the relationship of a noun or pronoun to another word
Conjunction Word that joins words or word groups
Interjection Word that expresses emotion.
Common nouns Names any group of persons, places, things or ideas
Proper noun Names a particular person, place, thing or idea
Concrete noun Names a person, place, thing, or idea that can be recognized through your senses
Abstract noun Names an idea, a feeling, a quality or a characteristic
Collective noun Word that names a group
Reflexive and intensive pronouns Words that end with -self
Linking verb (being) Connects subjects to words in a sentence that identify or describe the subject
Action verb Expresses either physical or mental action
Articles A, an and the
Demonstrative adjectives or pronouns This, that, these or those
