cell organells/functions

nucleus control center of cell contains DNA used to duplicate cells
mitochondria converts food into usable energy;powerhouse of the cell
Golgi bodies takes in nutrients and repackages them for use in other parts of the cell
endoplasmic reticulum passageways used for carrying materials through the cell
cytoplasm jelly-like substance that moves materials through the cell
ribosomes makes proteins for the cell
Lysosomes helps break down unused and old materials in order to keep the cell healthy
vacuole stores food ,water and waste
nuclear membrane surrounds and protects the nucleus
cell membrane controls what enters and leaves the cell
`cell wall provides plant cells with structure and support
chloroplast makes food for plant cell's using the sun's energy in a process called photosynthesis
