Is the study of the processes which traits are passed from one generation to another ? They're the Genetics.
This genetics makeup an individual made of two alleles Bb, BB, bb ? It's a Genotype.
The expression of the genotype of an individual ; the physical characteristics of an organisms ? A Phenotype.
The terms used to a genotype that has two identical alleles for a certain trait ? Is a Homozygous.
Is the term used to refer to a genotype has two different alleles for a particular trait ? It's a Heterozygous.
One of a number of different forms of a trait ? Allele.
A trait that is a mixture of a dominant and recessive allele ? A Hybrid.
A traits that's either all dominant or all recessive ? Pure Breeding is occurred in this process.
Describes traits that always have express/show themselves ? Its is mainly a Dominance.
It describes traits that only express themselves when paired with two similar alleles ? It is always called a Recessive.
The segregation of two alleles during the production of alleles by mitosis ? Segregation
It's called Meiosis in this reproduction system ? The process which gametes are produced by that have 1/2 the number of chromosomes.
What is a Punnett Square ? It is used to predict and compare the offspring produced by a designated cross/mating.
What is it called an Independent Assortment ? They're genes for different traits separate independently during the formation of gametes by meiosis.
It is called an Incomplete Dominance ? Is the blending of the traits of a heterozygous genotype
It's called Codominance ? Is a form of inheritance in which both alleles of a genotype are expressed equally to produce a phenotype
A Multiple Alleles ? Is a gene that have not 2 but 3 forms of the alleles.
Traits that are controlled by 2 or more genes ? A Polygenic.
A single gene controls the expression of many traits ? A Pleiotrophy.
A source of genetic variation caused by the unlimited number of possible sperm and egg combinations ? A random fertilization.
What is a Haploid ? Is half the number of chromosomes normally found in the cells of an organism.

Use these flashcards to help memorize information. Look at the large card and try to recall what is on the other side. Then click the card to flip it. If you knew the answer, click the green Know box. Otherwise, click the red Don't know box.

When you've placed seven or more cards in the Don't know box, click "retry" to try those cards again.

If you've accidentally put the card in the wrong box, just click on the card to take it out of the box.

You can also use your keyboard to move the cards as follows:

If you are logged in to your account, this website will remember which cards you know and don't know so that they are in the same box the next time you log in.

When you need a break, try one of the other activities listed below the flashcards like Matching, Snowman, or Hungry Bug. Although it may feel like you're playing a game, your brain is still making more connections with the information to help you out.
