INHERITANCE
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Homologous Chromosomes | chromosomes that are similar in size, shape, and genetic material pair up. |
| Dominant | THE allele is expressed. |
| Recessive | THE allele is not expressed. |
| Homozygous | An organism that has two dominant or two recessive alleles for a trait. |
| Genotype | Tge alleles that an organism inherits from its parents. |
| Phenotype | The form of the trait the organism displays. |
| Purebred | Genetically idenical offspring produced through self pollination. |
| Law Of Sergregation (L.O.S) | Dividing of alleles from each parent into seprate gametes. |
| Law Of Independent Assortment (L.I.A) | The genes for traits found on different chromosomes separate independently. |
| Incomplete Dominance | The result is a blend of the two forms of the trait. |
| Codominance | In which both alleles are expressed in the offspring. |
| Multiple Alleles | Is what determines some of the traits. |
| Polygenic Trait | Traits that are controlled by two or more genes. |
