INHERITANCE

QuestionAnswer
Homologous Chromosomes chromosomes that are similar in size,shape,and genetic material pair up.
Dominant THE allele is expressed.
Recessive THE allele is not expressed.
Homozygous An organism that has two dominant or two recessive alleles for a trait.
Genotype Tge alleles that an organism inherits from its parents.
Phenotype The form of the trait the organism displays.
Purebred Genetically idenical offspring produced through self pollination.
Law Of Sergregation (L.O.S) Dividing of alleles from each parent into seprate gametes.
Law Of Independent Assortment (L.I.A) The genes for traits found on different chromosomes separate independently.
Incomplete Dominance The result is a blend of the two forms of the trait.
Codominance In which both alleles are expressed in the offspring.
Multiple Alleles Is what determines some of the traits.
Polygenic Trait Traits that are controlled by two or more genes.
