What do you do if you get an error in your experiment? Run more trials.
What is the first step to Scientific Method? State the question/problem to be answered.
What is the second step to Scientific Method? Determine a possible answer to the question.
What is the third step to Scientific Method? Experiment.
What is the fourth step to Scientific Method? Record the data.
What is the fifth step to Scientific Method? Analyze the data.
What is the sixth step to Scientific Method? Conclude.
What are some errors that may occur in your experiment? Accidentally recording data wrong, leaving the experiment alone, and not having exact precision.
What is a hypothesis? A possible explanation for a set of observations or a possible answer to a scientific question.
What is a variable? All factors that can change in an experiment.
What is a independent variable? It is also called manipulated variable.
What is a manipulated variable? Variable that is purposely changed to test a hypothesis.
What is a dependent variable? It is also called responding variable.
What is a responding variable? A factor that may change in response to the manipulated variable.
What is a graduated cylinder? A beaker marked in intervals that is used to measure volume.
What is a microscope? A tool used to produce magnified images of small objects.
What is a balance? A tool used to measure the mass of objects.
What is a test tube? A cylindrical tube, usually smaller than a beaker, that is open at one end and closed at the other.
What is a constant? It is a controlled variable.
What is an inference? A logical interpretation based on what scientists already known.
What do tables and graphs used for? Scientists use them as a tool to organize and present information.
What is a control group? It is exposed to the same conditions as the experimental group except for one independent variable.
What is a theory? A theory is a well-tested explanation that accounts for a lot of observations and hypotheses and that lets scientists make good predictions.
What is biology? The study of life.
