Life processess

what is nutrition? an organism can obtain materials from its environment and use them as food
what is ingestion? taking food into the body
what is digestion? the breaking down of food
what is egestion? the removal of undigested food
what is transport? the absorption and distribution of materials
what is respiration? the process that provides energy for maintaining life functions
what is excretion? removal of metabolic waste
what is synthesis? larger molecules are built from smaller molecules
what is regulation? an organism maintains a stable internal environment in a constantly changing external environment
what is growth? the increase in cell size
what is reproduction? the production of new organisms
what is metabolism? the chemical reactions within an organism
what is homeostasis? the maintenance of a stable internal environment
