what is competition? the struggle for survival
what is variation? different traits that make certain individuals better able to survive
what is natural selection? organisms with more favorable adaptations survive, others die
what is survival of the fittest? organisms that are most fit to survive
what is inheritance of variation? better traits that are passed on to offspring
what is the evolution of new species? speciation; the variations in a species accumulate until it becomes a new species.
