Mitochondria Respiration and ATP production. The large SA allows respiration to happen quicker.
Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum Synthesises protiens (and glycoprotiens), and transports them. Ribosomes synthesise and large SA speeds up synthesis
Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum Synthesise, store and transport lipids and carbohydrates.
Ribosomes Protien synthesis and reads mRNA
Golgi body Forms Lysosomes. Produces secretary enzymes, forms glycoprotiens (protein and carbohydrates).
Lysosomes Keeps potentially damaging enzymes away from other organelles.
Nucleus Acts as a control centre for the cell, retains genetic information, makes ribosomes. The nucleur pores allow the RNA to leave the nucleus.
Cell Membrane A double membrane; the other controlling the entry/exit of material, the innner folded to form the cristae.
