| What is anemia? | a blood disorder where low levels of RBCs or hemoglobin causes fatigue. |
| What are the signs of Sickle Cell Anemia? | Hereditary, malformed blood cells |
| What are the signs of Pernicious Anemia? | Vitamin B12 Deficiency. |
| What is Polycythemia? | Excess production of red blood cells |
| Another term for White Blood Cells. | Leukocytes |
| What do White blood cells do? | Protect against infection/invasion. |

| What are the defining properties of Neutrophils? | They make up 50-70% of all WBC, they are polymorphonuclear large cells that kill invaders |
| What are the defining properties of Eosinophils? | They take up an acidic red stain, and function in parasitic worm infections and in allergic reactions. |
| What are the defining properties of Basophils? | They take a basic blue stain, and release histamine, which dilates blood vessels and constricts air tubes. |
