Cell parts-functions

Of an ANIMAL CELL!

QuestionAnswer
Cell Membrane the outer boundary of the cell that controls what comes in and out. Things that are too big to go through the membrane go through a special tube or channel. It is selectively permeable and can recognize foreign invaders.
Organelles "little organs" Each organelle has a different function.
Nucleus the control center of the cell that directs activities and stores info(passes in and out of pores). It is the largest cell organelle. It is surrounded by the membrane and it contains chromatin.
Chromatin thin strands of DNA. It contains info for the cells activities. It contains the info for each human's traits.
Nucleolus means small"little" nucleus. It is the production center of ribosomes that pass out of pores.
Endoplasmic Reticulum helps transport information and substances. RE is home to ribosomes.
Ribosomes create protein for the cell.
Golgi apparatus the vesicle where protein is packed and processed.
Lysosome Helps break down substances
Microtubles the support for the cell.
Mitochondria produces energy for cell
Nuclear plasm the gel like substance that is between the n. membrane and nucleolus that help move substances.
flagella hangs off the cell not all cells have one.
