what is equilibrium? concentration of the solute is the same throughout a system
what is osmosis? the diffusion of water through a selectivelypermeable membrane
What is the difference between osmosis and diffusion? Osmosis is diffusion, just through a selectively permeable membrane (cell membrane)
what does exocytosis mean? things exiting the cell
what does isotonic mean? concentration of water & sugar on both sides of membrane
what does diffusion mean? particles move from an area of high concentration to low
what does endocyctosis mean? things entering the cell?
what does a protein channel do? it allows specific molecules to move across the cell membrane?

phagocytosis means what? to eat:movement of food
pinocyctosis means what? to drink: movement of liquids
