ecology is the scientific study of the relations that living organisms have with respect to each other and their natural environment.
biosphere is the global sum of all ecosystems
species a species is one of the basic units of biological classification and a taxonomic rank.
population is all the organisms that both belong to the same species and live in the same geographical area.
community consists of the total body of scientists, its relationships and interactions.
ecosystem An ecosystem is a biological environment consisting of all the organisms living in a particular area,
autotroph or producer, is an organism that produces complex organic compounds (such as carbohydrates, fats, and proteins) from simple inorganic molecules using energy from light (by photosynthesis) or inorganic chemical reactions (chemosynthesis).
heterotroph is an organism that cannot fix carbon and uses organic carbon for growth
food web depicts feeding connections (who eats whom) in an ecological community.
trophic level The trophic level of an organism is the position it occupies in a food chain
biomass as a renewable energy source, is biological material from living, or recently living organisms.
biogeochemical cycle a biogeochemical cycle or substance turnover or cycling of substances is a pathway by which a chemical element or molecule moves through both biotic (biosphere) and abiotic (lithosphere, atmosphere, and hydrosphere) compartments of Earth.
limiting nutrient A limiting factor or limiting resource is a factor that controls a process, such as organism growth or species population, size, or distribution.
weather Weather is the state of the atmosphere, to the degree that it is hot or cold, wet or dry, calm or stormy, clear or cloudy
