QuestionAnswer
carrying capacity largest number of individuals of a particular species that can survive over long periods of times in a given environment.
demography the study of human population.
demographic transition The change in a population from high birth and death rates to low birth and death rates.
green revolution The development of highly perductive crop strains and the use of modern agrecultures and techniques to increase yield of food crops.
renewable resource Resources that use regenerate quickly and that is replacible.
pollutant The harmful material that can enter the biosphere through the land, air, or water.
biodiversity The sum total of the variety of organisms in the biosphere.
biological magnification The increasing concentration of a harmful substance in organisms that at higher trophic levels in a food chain or food web.
