| acclimation | adjustment of tolerance to abiotic factors through this proccess |
| conformers | organisms that do not regulate their internal conditions, change with their environmental changes the internal conditions of a conformer remain within the optimal range as long as environmental conditions remain within that range |
| regulators | organisms that use energy to control some of thier internal conditions |
| dormacy | a long term strategy to escape from unsuitable conditions such as winter or drought is to enter to a state of reduced activity |
