Reactions and Enzyme

What is a reactant? Reactants are the elements or compounds that enter into a chemical reaction.
What is a product? Product are the elements or compounds that are produced by a chemical reaction.
If the reactants have less energy than the products, then energy is.... Released aka Exothernmic Reaction.
If the reactants have less energy than the products, the energy is... Absorbed aka Endothermic Reaction.
What is activation energy? Activation energy is the energy needed to get a chemical reaction started.
Chemical reactions that release energy? Spontaneously
Chemical reactions that absorb energy? Will not occur without a source of energy.
What is a catalyst? A catalyst is a substance that speeds up the rate of a chemical reaction.
How do enzymes speed up chemical reactions? Enzymes speed up chemical reactions by lowering the activation energy of a reaction.
How do enzymes work? Enzymes work by creating an ideal environment for the reaction to take place.
`What is a enzyme-substrate complex? A enzyme- substrate complex is when to substrates come together with a enzyme and get transformed into a different product.
