Cells

QuestionAnswer
What is a cell? It is the basic unit of an organism.
What is a cell memberane? It controls substances that enter or leave a cell.
What is cell theory? All living things are made of cells and can reproduce themselves.
What is a cell wall? It surrounds, protects, and supports a plant cell.
What is a chloroplast? It is a plant organelle for photosynthesis.
What is the cytoplasm? It is the clear, thick, gel-like material inside a cell.
What is the endoplasmic reticulum? It is communication tunnels inside a cell that connect the nucleus to the cytoplasm.
What is a lysosome? It is the cell's clean-up crew; it breaks down larger substances into smaller ones.
What is a microscope? It is an instrument that makes small things look big.
What is the mitochondria? It is the power plant of a cell; it produces energy from food.
What is the nucleus? It is the brains of a cell; it controls the cell's function.
What is an organelle? It is a structure inside cells that carries out specific functions.
What is a ribosome? It is the site of protein production.
What is a vacuole? It is a storage area in a cell (collects water and waste).
