QuestionAnswer
Biology? Study of living things.
Organism? Something made of cells.
Cell? Collection of living matter enclosed by a barrier that seperates the cell from its surroundings.
Unicellular? Single celled.
Multicellular? Can contain hundreds of cells. Various shapes and sizes.
Sexual Reproduction? Cells from two parents unite to form a new organism.(differ from parents)
Asexual Reproduction? New organism with a single parent.(just alike)
Genetic Code? Determines the inherited traits of every organism on earth.
DNA? Directions for inheritance carried by a molecule.
Develoupment? Period of rapid change.
Photosythesis? Process in which plants and other organisms use light energy to convert water and carbon dioxide into Oxygen.
Chemical Reaction? Metabolism? Process of matierials building or breaking.
Molecule? Smallest unit of most compounds.
Stimulus? Signal to which an organism responds.
Homeostasis? Keeping internal conditions.
Evolution? Ability to change over years.
Arrange Levels of Organizations from Smallest to Largest. Species,Genius,Family,Order,Class,Phylum,Kingdom
Explain what a controlled experiment is. When one thing is varied at a time,while everything we think might effect the outcome is kept constant.
Variable? Anything that might take on a diffrent value in an experiment.
List some variables. Temperatures,lengths,masses,growth rates.
Name three types of variables. Independent,Dependent,and Controlled.
Independent Variable? Variable the experimenter choose to change.
Dependent Variable? Variable that responds to the changes of the independent variable.
Controlled Variable? The variable that is kept constant.Never changes.
