scientific method an organized approached. based on two principles: events in natraul world have natrual causes and uniforminty{ fundemental laws of nature operate same way at all places at all times
observation to examine something using your 5 senses. or preceiving a natrual occurance that causes someone to pose a question
hypothesis a proposed explanation for the way a particular aspect of the natrual world functions
prediction to make a guess about the future based on previous knowledge
experiment used to test a hypothesis and its predictions
control group provides a normal standard agaisnt which the biologist can compare results of the experimental group. the thing that dosent change in the experiment
experimental group identical to control group except for the independeant variable
independant variable the thing in the experiment that you are trying to change
dependent vaariable it is affected by the independant variable
theroy a set of related hypothesis is confirmed to be true many times and it can explain a great amount of data.
peer view when scientists who are experts in that field anonymously read and critique that research paper.
