Domain In a modern taxonomic system, the broadest category; the category that contains kingdoms
Kingdom In a traditional taxonomic system, the highest taxonomic category, which contains a group of similar phyla
Ecology The branch of biology that studies organisms interacting with each other and with the environment
Ecosystem Communitites of living species and their physical environments
Evolution Descent with modifications, the process in which the inherited characteristics within populations and new species can develope
Natural Selection Organisms that have certain favorable traits are better able to survive and reproduce successfully than organisms that lack these traits
Adaptation Traits that improve an individual's ability to survive and reproduce
