| Question | Answer |

| Muscular System | The body system that moves at joint and pushes substances such as blood, food, and fluids through the body. |
| Muscle Fibers | Are muscle cells that contract, or shorten, when they are stimulated by the nervous system. |
| Skeletal Muscle | The muscle that you are most familiar with. A type of muscle that attaches to the skeleton by tendons. Mostly under voluntary control. |
| Smooth Muscle | is found in many body systems and, unlike striated muscle, it is not striped. Smooth muscle moves food through the digestive system, empties the bladder, and helps push the baby during birth. |
| Cardiac Muscle | Muscle that is found only in the heart, and it looks like a combination of the two other muscle types. Cardiac muscles are under involuntary control. |
| Tendon | Connective tissue that begins within the muscle and continues into the bone or other muscle tissue. |
