QuestionAnswer
sex-linked trait. A trait associated with a gene that is carried only by the male or female parent.
Explain the concept of multiple alleles. what are some traits that have multiple alleles? The inheritance of A B O blood groups in man is an example of multiple alleles.three or more alternative forms of a particular gene existing in a population.
Somatic cells. one of the cells that take part in the formation of the body, becoming differentiated into the various tissues, organs, etc.
Fossil Record. A term used by paleontologists ( see paleontology) to refer to the total number of fossils that have been discovered, as well as to the information derived from them.
Petrification. The process by which organic materials are turned into rock.
Homologous Structure. Having the same typical structure and position.
