Define cohesion When the molecules of water want to cling together due to hydrogen bonds
Why does water have surface tension? Because of the hydrogen bonds
What are hydrogen bonds? When the negative oxygen side of one water molecule is attracted to the positive hydrogen side of the other.
What is responsible for moderating the earth's temperature? Water, because of its high specific heat and hydrogen bonding.
Define hydrophilic Any substance that has an affinity for water
Define hydrophobic Any substance that seem to repel water.
