Gills Special organs that allow oxygen and carbon dioxide to pass between the water and the fish's blood
Gill Arch A curved arch of cartilage where a gill is in a fish
Gill Filaments The filaments that water passes by to exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide with the blood
Gill Chamber A chamber that opens into the fish's pharynx
Gill Rakers Vanelike projections from the front of each gill arch that strain food particles and other debris out of the water
Lateral Line A system of special nerve endings that extends over a fish's head and the sides of it's body
Swim Bladder A hollow, gas-filled chamber located high in the fish's body cavity
