What are the 2 types photosystems? Photosystem 1 = P700. Photosystem 2 = P680
Describe photosystem 1. P700, second in photosynthesis.
Describe photosystem 2. P680, first in photosynthesis.
What 3 things are in a photosystem? antenna pigments, chlorophyll molecule, and proteins.
AKA: light ray. photon, radiant energy from the sun.
How do photons get from sun to reaction centers? photon is absorbed by antenna pigment, energy transferred from pigment to pigment until reaches reaction center.
What happens in the reaction center? photon energy excites chlorophyll A, electrons jump to a higher energy level and get captured by primary electron acceptors.
What catches the excited electrons in the reaction center? primary electron acceptor.
WHERE are photosystems in plants? thylakoid membranes
