Different endocrine glands

| Pineal | Secretes melatonin, a structurally simple hormone that communicates information about environmental lighting to various parts of the body. |
| Hypothalamus | Located in the limbic system of the brain, an area of the brain that controls emotions and behavior. |
| Pituitary | Is located at the base of the braina dn the about the size of a pea. Controls the functions of the other endocrine glands. |
| Thyroid | Take iodine, found in many foods, and convert it into thyroid hormones |
| Parathyroid | Controls calcium within the blood |
| Andrenals | Orange-colored endocrine glands which are located on the top of both kidneys |
| Pancreas | Produces two important hormones, insulin and glucagon. |
| Ovaries | Produce eggs and secrete the female hormones estrogen and progesterone. |
| Testes | Located in the scrotum, secretes hormones called androgens, the most important of which is testosterone. |
