vacuole store food, enzymes and other materials needed by a cell
cell wall thick ; rigid ; mess of fibers surrounding the outside of plasma membrane protecting cell and giving it support
lysosomes vesicles that contain substances that digest excess or worn-out organelles & food particles
microvilli tiny hairlike folds in the plasma membrane that extend from the surface of many absorptive or secretory cells
chlorophyll is the molecule that absorbs sunlight and uses its energy to synthesise carbohydrates from CO2 and water.
nuclear pore a protein-lined channel in the nuclear envelope that regulates the transportation of molecules between the nucleus and the cytoplasm.
