Parts of the kidney

Renal vein transports blood away from the kidney
Renal artery transports blood to the kidneys
Renal capsule outlines the kidneys, protective layer
Cortex outer part of the kidney, contains Bowmans capsule and glomerulus
Medulla reabsorbes the things the body wants to keep, secretes the things it doesn't
Pelvis funnels urine into the ureter
Calyx drains urine into the pelvis
Bowman's capsule collects filtered water and other substances from the blood
Glomerulus distributes blood vessels in the cortex
Distall convulted tubule absorbes hydrogen for the kidney
Promial convulted tubule absorbes glucose,potassium,sodium, passive reabsorption of water
Loop of Henle Reabsorption of of water and salts from the filtrate
Collecting duct collects filtrate from a number of nephrons
Bladder Stores urine
Ureter carries urine to the bladder
Urethra takes urine to the outside
