Water Cycle

Precipitation Water collects in clouds to form this process (rain falls)
Capillarity Some of water in soil moves up roots of plants
Absorption Plants take in water from ground
Evaporation Water disappears from bodies of water
Transpiration The process of water evaporating through stoma, or pores, in the foliage of plants
Surface run-off Water which falls to the ground to streams, ponds, oceans, etc (bodies of water)
Percolation The process of water from surface run-off water soaking into the ground
Ground water Water that runs back to lakes and other bodies of water
How does deforestation (cutting down forests) interfere with the water cycle? There would be no transpiration process, therefore it would be difficult to recycle water
