QuestionAnswer
Anaphase third phase, the centromeres join the sister chromatids to split allowing them to become individual chromosomes.
Telophase the fourth phase, when the chromosomes begin to disperse into a tangle of dense material
Spindle fibers fanlike microtubule structure that helps seperate the chromosomes.
Cytokinesis the division of the cytoplasm itself, it usually occurs at the same time as telophase. The remains of the M phase.
Metaphase plate/equator the center of the cell where the chromosomes line up, during mantphase.
Cell plate forms midway between the divided nuclei
Cyclins One of a family of closely related proteins that regrulate the cell cycle in living things.
Internal Regulators Proteins that respond to events inside the cell. Also they allow the cell cycle to proceed only when certain processes have happened in the cell.
External Regulators Proteins that respond to events outside the cell. Also they direct cells to speed up or slow down the cell cycle.
Cancer a disorder in which some of the body's own cells lose the ability to control growth.
