Heredity the passing of traits from parent to offspring
Genes contain coded information used to form a creature from a fertilized egg. it is a small part of a chromosome. Genes are made of DNA
Dominant the gene that takes complete control
Genotype the genes a person has for a trait
Phenotype the physical characteristic that a person has for a trait
Heterozygous when a creature's genotype contains two different genes for a trait
Homozygous when a creature's genotype contains two of the same genes for a trait
Traits a physical characteristic
Recesive the gene that does not have complete control
Complete Dominance A physical characteristic that has complete control over that certain trait
Incomplete Dominance The physical characteristic that does not have complete control and will probbally be passed on to the next person
