Define Anatomy. The study of the structure of body parts and their realationship to one another.
Define Physiology. The study of the function of the body.
Give an example of how the body maintains boundries? Skin protects against the invasion of pathogenic bacteria.
Give an example of how the body has movement. Joints, muscles and bones allow limbs to move.
Give an example of the bodiy's responsiveness. When you place your hand on a hot stove your withdrawal reflex pulls your hand back.
Give an example of how the body digests. The stomach breaks down food and absorbs its nutrients.
Define Metabolism. All checmical reactions that occur in the body.
Define Catabolism. The breaking down of molecules. (food digestion)
Define Anabolism. The making or building up of molecules. (growth of bone and muscle mass)
Name the parts of the INTEGUMENTARY SYSTEM. Skin, Hair and Nails.
Name the parts of the SKELETAL SYSTEM. Bones and Joints.
Name the parts of the MUSCULAR SYSTEM. Skeletal Muscles.
Name the parts of the NERVOUS SYSTEM. Brain, Spinal Cord and Nerves.
Name the parts of the ENDOCRINE SYSTEM. Pineal Gland, Pituitary Gland, Thyroid Gland, Thymus, Adrenal Gland, Pancreas, Ovary and Testies.
Name the parts of the CARDIOVASCULAR SYSTEM. Blood Vessels and Heart.
Name the parts of the LYMPHATIC/IMMUNITY SYSTEM. Red Bone Marrow, Thymus, Lymphatic Vessels, Thoracic Duct, Spleen, Lymph Nodes.
