What is a consumer? An organism that must eat producers or other consumers to survive?
What is a carnivore? Organisms that only eat animals
What is an omnivore? Organism that eat plants and animals
What is a herbivore? Organisms that only eat plants
What is a Terrestrial Ecosystem? A community of organisms & their environment on land
What is Aquatic Ecosystem? A community organisms & their environment in bodies of water
What is a Biotic Factor? Factors created by living things
What is Abiotic Factor? Factors created by non-living things
What is an introduced species? a organism newly introduced to an ecosystem
What is a Decomposer? organism that decomposes detritus
What is detritus? dead organisms and waste
What is the Top Carnivore? organism at the top of food chain has no predators
What is Carrying Capacity? The number of organisms an ecosystem can support
What is a Limiting Factor? a factor limiting the number of organisms in an ecosystem
What is Biodiversity? Variety of species in an ecosystem
What is Sustainability? how a biological system remains productive and diverse over time
What is Equillibrium? ecological balance and harmonious coexistence of organism and their environment
